DREAMS Come True program now accepting nominees!

“The Future Belongs to Those Who Believe in the Beauty of Their Dreams.”  – Eleanor Roosevelt

DREAMS Come True is a program for area residents age 55+ that can make a lifelong goal become reality or fulfill a new but meaningful life experience that has been out of reach. A committee of community representatives with the staff of Casa Community Services and the Posada Life Foundation make selections twice annually from nominations received throughout the year.  The program is made possible by the Posada Life Foundation, and charitable contributions to DREAMS Come True are most welcome.

The 1st DREAM fulfilled came in the form of a trip for an area woman who longed to see two little granddaughters before her eyesight failed. DREAMS Come True was able to arrange the trip and a family reunion dinner.

The 2nd DREAM brings back memories for a Korean War-era Navy veteran. Kodiak Island is the destination and the veteran and his wife are excited to travel to Alaska where he can see the many changes that have occurred in 60+ years – and to search for what remains of that era of history.

The 3rd DREAM awarded allowed a retired teacher to spend her October birthday with her sick son in Arkansas.

A 4th DREAM was awarded to 2 seniors. One wants the thrill of flying again in a biplane; the other to tap dance in an on-stage performance in front of an audience.

A 5th DREAM is expected to be awarded in Spring 2017.

Do you want to help make someone’s dream a reality?
