Ice Cream and Music Friday Concerts start July 21!

What goes great with ice cream during the Arizona summertime?

It’s not hot fudge or the whip cream and cherry ūüôā …….

How about toe-tappin’ live music!

Take the time to thrive between monsoon rains and Arizona “winter” (sometimes, what we call our summer heat season) to get outside and enjoy music from great local bands.

Beginning Friday,  July 21,  the Ice Cream and Music Friday Concert Series returns to the Shoppes at La Posada!

This year’s concert series benefits and supports The Community Food Banks of Amado & Green Valley. ¬†We are spotlighting this great cause because every year the local food banks mission expands to meet the food insecurity needs of the Southern Arizona community. ¬†From past summer concerts, non-perishable food and monetary donations ended up helping our local food bank meet and fill the needs of their customers. ¬†Your support of our concert series may assist a great friend, fellow workmate, wonderful volunteer, future scholar, or kindly senior fill their pantry with food.

Also, all receipts earned at Posada Java during the concert hours ( 6 Р8 PM) will be donated to the local food bank too! So, go ahead and have that frosty treat and dance it off with your sweetheart or friends.

  • Friday, July 21, Les Roberts, vintage and contemporary Jazz.
  • Friday, July 28, Good Question, a band bringing their own unique beat to classic rock, country, and rhythm¬†& blues
  • Friday, August 4, The Banjo Blasters,¬†lively, banjo music ¬†playing from swing to jazz
  • Friday, August 11, Two’s Company, ¬†a musical/comedy duo performing country, big band, and soft rock
  • Friday, ¬†August 18, The Dust Devils, ¬†traditional and newgrass style bluegrass music
  • Friday, ¬†August 25, ¬†The Jukebox Junqies¬†Band,¬†MOVE,¬†DANCE, and FEEL the music of yesteryears

Free admission to all concerts.  Donations of non-perishable food items and cash accepted at the concerts for The Community Food Banks of Amado & Green Valley.

All concerts begin 6 PM in the courtyard at The Shoppes! If monsoon rains visit on our concerts dates, we move the concert inside to Posada Java.

Honor Flight Benefit Concert is April 1st!

The Willingness of America’s Veterans to sacrifice for our country has earned them our lasting gratitude. – Jeff Miller

A free concert for a great cause:  To take World War II and Korean War veterans to their national memorials in Washington, D.C., at no cost to them!

Join us Saturday, April 1st to support  Honor Flight Southern Arizona!  Come to honor, learn, and reminisce with the Greatest Generation. La Posada is honored to host this concert for Veterans.

This benefit concert begins at NOON with the Big Bands Sounds of Green Valley taking the stage to perform lively melodies from the Big Band era of music.  Come early to get a great seat.  Always plenty of room to dance.

This concert is located in the courtyard within The Shoppes at La Posada. The Shoppes is located at 665 South Park Centre Ave., Green Valley, Arizona.

Donations accepted at the concert help Honor Flight Southern Arizona provide travel to deserving WWII and Korean War veterans to visit their national memorials in Washington, D.C.

Spring Concerts For A Better Community Begin February 11!

Your Southern Arizona Spring Break begins February 11 when Concerts For A Better Community returns to The Shoppes at La Posada for 6 weeks.

First up, Scattered Grass takes the stage with lively Bluegrass and Gospel music to spotlight a vital community resource, Posada Life Adult Day Services, who knows the challenges of caring for a loved one at home.

Posada Life Adult Day Services offers a safe and stimulating environment for your loved one¬†while offering respite to their caregivers. If you are caring for someone with a¬†physical disability, impaired memory or emotional needs, this program may be your answer to helping you take care of yourself while you strive to keep your loved one at home. ¬†Adult Day Service’s state-licensed program is staffed with health aides, activity specialists and licensed nurses. Your¬†mother, father, or spouse will enjoy a variety of individual and group activities, including, exercise, entertainment, monthly theme parties, and field trips. FREE ADMISSION to all concerts and the live performances start at noon. If rain, concerts are relocated indoors to Posada Java.

Monetary donations accepted for Adult Day Services at all concerts. ¬†During concert hours, 12 PM – 2 PM, Posada Java will donate all sales to Posada Life’s Adult Day Services.

Your summer respite begins July 15th when the Ice Cream and Music Friday Nights concert series returns to The Shoppes at La Posada for 6 weeks. All concerts begin 6 PM.

Concerts for Casa Kick Off Feb. 20

A great line-up of free concerts is set for each Saturday, Feb. 20 through March 26 at The Shoppes at La Posada. Sponsorships and proceeds from Posada Java during the concert help raise funds for Casa Community Services, providing Adult Day Services, the Casa Community Center, Los Ni√Īos del Valle Preschool and Behavioral Health Services to the greater Green Valley area.

Admission is free and each concert begins at noon.

First up is Scattered Grass, a bluegrass band with roots stretching from the East Coast to the West! They’ve become a Tucson area favorite for bluegrass in the tradition of Flatt and Scruggs, Bill Monroe and Jimmy Martin. Come prepared to tap your toes!
