Myth-busting Finance Workshop Set at Two Locations

Pocket Park on the La Posada Campus

It’s a common question: “What does it cost to live at La Posada?” The answer to that and several other financial topics will be provided at events being held at two locations in June.

The Madera Clubhouse at Quail Creek is one venue for “Myth-busting Finance Workshop” with a choice of two dates: June 16 or 23, each from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Posada Java will host two more dates for the event: June 18 or 30, from 3-5 p.m. A meal is included at each event.

La Posada staff will explain various financial aspects of living at the Continuing Care Retirement Community including:
• What is a refundable entrance fee and how is it used?
• How do monthly costs compare to my current expenses?
• What are the tax benefits of a not-for-profit continuing care community?

Reservations are necessary. Seating is limited.  Call 520-648-8131 for information or to RSVP. Please join us!

Good times and a great cause: The popular summer series of live music will soon begin in the courtyard at Posada Java, where ice cream and other sweets make the perfect listening treats. First up: Tiempo Nuevo Band, a Tucson group with a Big Band jazz sound. They take the stage on Friday, July 10. All concerts are from 6 to8 p.m. Here’s the rest of the schedule:

July 17: Little Philly and the Cheesesteaks
July 24: Steve Laury and Susan Artemis
July 31: The Arizona Banjo Blasters
Aug. 7: Carmen Catania and Mary Lou Catania

Proceeds from Posada Java during the concert and on-site donations benefit the fresh milk and egg program at the Community Food Bank of Green Valley-Sahuarita-Amado.  Food and cash donations are encouraged to benefit this local charitable non-profit. (Checks should indicate “milk and egg program” in memo.)
